MEET THE ORGANVIVE TEAM

Yaxin Wang, PhD

Chief Executive Officer & President

Dr. Wang, is the first female Endowed Chair at The Texas Heart Institute, is transforming cardiovascular technology through groundbreaking advancements in left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and next-generation cardiovascular models. As director of the Innovative Device and Engineering Applications (IDEA) Laboratory, she leads multi-million-dollar NIH and DoD-funded initiatives, driving research, innovation, and mentorship

Gabriel Loor, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Loor is an accomplished heart and lung transplant surgeon with over a decade of experience. He is a recognized pioneer in ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) technology, having performed the first donation after cardiac death (DCD) lung transplant using a portable EVLP platform in the United States. Leading pivotal trials like INSPIRE and EXPAND, he advances EVLP’s role in reducing primary graft dysfunction (PGD) risks and drives innovation in DCD lung transplantation.

Chris Chan, PhD

Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Chan is a biomedical scientist with over a decade of industrial R&D experience, driving innovation in medical devices such as left ventricular assist devices (LVADs), extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) technologies across the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States. His novel hemocompatibility testing for medical devices has redefined industry standards, setting new benchmarks that have revolutionized the safety and efficacy of medical technologies
